MEET KRISTEN

New Leadership Delivering Results for Our Community

Kristen is a Jersey City Public School educator for more than 30 years and is presently the athletic director at McNair Academic High School. She is born and raised in Jersey City and is a champion for the community through her advocacy, organizing, volunteering and coaching. Kristen is the proud mom of three children, Ian, Logan and Anson and the wife of a Jersey City Firefighter.  She believes that if you were born and raised here, own a business here or chose to move here and make Jersey City your home- our city should work for EVERYONE!

Kristen comes from a strong union household. She’s the youngest daughter of a Jersey City educator and a Teamster. She knows firsthand the value of hardwork and determination.

Growing up in Jersey City, Kristen is a proud graduate of St. Aedan’s Elementary School and St. Dominic Academy. She eventually attended the University of Nebraska where she was a member of the women’s soccer team and received her B.S. in Psychology and her certification as a Teacher of the Handicapped from New Jersey City University (formerly Jersey City State College) as well as her Master’s in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.

She was an Executive Board Member for the Jersey City Education Association and a Board Member for the Jersey City Recreation Foundation and currently serves as a Society Hill at Droyers Point HOA Board Trustee. Kristen was also named a Jersey City Woman of Action and a  Jersey City Public Schools Teacher of the Year. Kristen has served as a delegate for the National Education Association, participated in the See Educators Run program and completed the Emerge NJ training.

Along with her husband, Kristen navigated the various entities, raised the grant funding and oversaw the project to turf and install lights at the Caven Point Soccer Field.
